FWHT Celebrates MLK Day

On January 19, 2015, FWHT attorneys and employees participated in the firm’s first annual MLK Day of Service.  Some of the highlights included the following:

• During FWHT’s week-long food drive, the firm collected 138 pounds of non-perishable food, which was delivered to Second Harvest Heartland.
• FWHT donated and assembled 22 “Welcome Home” cleaning kits for individuals and families served by St. Stephen’s Human Services and its emergency shelter.
• FWHT attorneys and employees volunteered at St. Stephen’s Human Services by sorting and organizing recently donated clothing, household goods, and hygiene products.  By the time the volunteers were done, two large coat racks were overflowing with warm winter coats and several boxes with winter hats, scarves, and mittens.  St. Stephen’s volunteer coordinator estimated that our group worked at “four times” the normal rate.
